Added Flexibility

Sales Tax/VAT & Discount – per Service, Other Charge or Item.

Pay Terms per Job.

Add Service charges & Item prices to the database with a starting date for the Charge/Price, allowing input of old data that automatically relates to the correct Charge/Price for the relevant date range.

Old paperwork records can be stored with complete accuracy of the statistical data, for a history of the business from day one if required.

Users are free at any time to input a different one-off Charge/Price for a certain Service/Item, overriding the stored Charge/Price.

All relevant labels can be changed to accommodate most Countries.

UK, Europe & US compatible - Database works in any Country that uses £, $ or €

Although not designed as a multi-user database, Job Database 3 will allow multiple users to view and update information (but not update the same record at the same time).

Security

Job Database 3 has user login security, but it is meant to be ‘alleviate prying eyes’ strength only.

If a knowledgeable person took a copy of your Microsoft Access database and were determined to access your data, in all likelihood they would be able to.

For added protection it would be prudent to save and run the database from an encrypted disk.

Products such as Dekart Private Disk allow you to open the disk and use your files as you normally would on any hard disk, but then close the disk and leave your files encrypted at up to 256bit strength.

To give you some idea as to how hard it would then be for unauthorised people to open your database, independently tested at AES 256bit encryption strength with a 9 symbol password, it would take 252,000 years using a Pentium 4 processor.

Dekart Private Disk is extremely easy to use (I’ve been using it for years).
